NURSES REGISTERED IN ENGLAND AND WALES, SCOTLAND, NORTHERN IRELAND AND THE IRISH FREE STATE.

23. Any person whose name is included as a nurse in the General Part of the Register kept by the General Nursing Council for Eng- land and Wales, the General Nursing Council for Scotland, the General Nursing Council for the Irish Free State, or by the Joint Nursing and Midwives' Council (Northern Ireland), or in any supplementary part of the same, shall on making application to the Director of Medical and Sanitary Services and paying the prescribed fee, and on production of a certi- ficate issued by the Registrar of the Council on whose Register the said person is regis- tered, to the effect that her name has been entered and is included in such Register, and of a complete copy of that entry, be entitled to be admitted to the corresponding part or parts of the Register.

PART V.

REMOVAL OF NURSE FROM REGISTER.

24. (1) When it is brought to the notice of the Board that a nurse who is included in the Register (in this part of these regulations referred to as "the Respondent") has been convicted of any offence punishable with im- prisonment or has been guilty of any miscon- duct, the Director of Medical and Sanitary Services after making such further enquiries relative thereto as he thinks necessary may lay the matter before the Board.

(2) The Director of Medical and Sanitary Services may decline to proceed with the matter unless the evidence in support of the charge (other than evidence of a conviction) is verified by a statutory declaration.
